Many people want to turn the Grove into Mayberry for July 4th -- an old hometown place to enjoy an All American holiday. I agree, but I am more partial to Stars Hollow from the Gilmore Girls. But either way, this is a great concept.
All businesses are being asked to participate in the way of decorations. In fact, AnnaMaria brought up the idea of a contest for storefront window decorations and perhaps even for residents.
It's nice to see the businesses and Center Grove decorated, but how about all the neighborhoods? Why not see red, white and blue all over the Grove, so as people drive through, they can see we are all involved. Houses and condos can easily be decorated and add to the theme of Mayberry/Stars Hollow on the Fourth of July.
Bunting and flags are left over from last year and more will be added. We will kick around the idea of contests for store windows and houses/condos and maybe even boats and will get back with what is decided.
