We talked about the bored tourists and also about having vendors on the streets, we have to engage people. Perhaps something can be arranged where local businesses can man booths on weekend mornings if for nothing else, than to just accommodate the tourists.
As they exit the buses, there could be souvenirs, t-shirt, jewelry, you know, decent things that tourists want. It might stimulate the economy and also keep the buses coming, because at this rate, they may not come back if enough tourists complain about the bus companies dropping them off in ghost towns. We aren't the wild west, they want action, not tumbleweeds on Main Highway and Grand Avenue.
I keep hearing from people that vendors on the streets is not a classy thing. Well neither are boarded up storefronts. Let's make the change now, right as tourist season is about to start.
