Artists Bernadette Denoux and Phyllis Hains sold their jewelry designs last night at the First Saturday Art Stroll at the Mayfair Promenade. Bernadette does lovely sterling designs from metal clay -- clay that turns into silver and Phyllis makes fused glass jewelry, plates and more.
At right are Vlad Shvartsman, Lisette Perez and Jacques Rebibo, enjoying the cool night air, full moon and art, food and drinks.

I just counted about 40 people at any one moment, waiting to cross the street in the center of town, CocoWalk and Commodore Plaza are flooded with people. The stores, restaurants and even parks are full. About 35 or more people are waiting in line at A.C.'s Icee truck at Kennedy Park. The yacht clubs and sailing club are full.
This is the secret of the Grove's success -- 68 degree, clear, sunny weather. And it doesn't hurt that it is the last big holiday weekend of the year. Can we bottle it up and use it all the time?
The Grove has not been this crowded since the last event -- The Strut. We always fill the streets for events, it's so nice to see people here just because.

Shah Rukh Khan, one of the most famous actors and directors in India, is filming his next movie in Miami and Coconut Grove in the spring. It's a super hero film called Ra-1. The cast and crew may be based at the new Marriot (the former DoubleTree).
Shah loved the area so much while filming Tarun Mansukhani's DOSTANA. that he decided to return.
Shakespeare Miami has moved it's Shakespeare in the Park this year from Peacock Park to the Barnacle (3485 Main Highway).
"The Taming of the Shrew" will be performed on January 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm and on January 17, there is also a 2:00 pm matinee.
On Saturday, January 16 at noon, there is a Children's Tea with Shakespeare story hour.No charge for any of the performances. A summary of the story is here.
Gardner's Market (3117 Bird Road) now has barbecue ribs and the fixin's each weekend. Here are Zulaika Alvarez and Vanessa Layne from Joy Wallace Catering, manning the booth last weekend.
The booth is set up from 11 am to 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday. For $14.00 you'll get a full rack of ribs, and a half rack is only $8.00. Sides include coleslaw and baked beans, both come in small, medium or large for $1.00, $2.00 and $3.00 respectively.
Ten chicken wings are $8.00 and kettle corn starts at $3.00 a bag.
